The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity. Outstanding! This is the word to describe not only "Strävan", but Murg, as a proficient, unique swedish duo. Their ability to craft ferocious hymns, unsophisticated but with plenty of variety and melodic settings is truly impressive. This is an album that stayed with me over the years and I am sure I will keep it close for many years to come. And after hearing it hundreds of times, it still gives me the chills. Timeless, greatly atmospheric and catchy, this is, beyond doubt, a masterpiece!
